Management

Mr. Bayless founded a predecessor exploration and production company in 1986 and subsequently merged that with his father’s operations in 1999 to form the current company.  Previously, Rob worked as a production engineer for Amoco and then as head engineer for two independent companies.  Rob received a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and has served in leadership roles for the Western Energy Alliance and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Mr. Silverman has over 40 years of oil and gas industry experience and currently leads the company’s exploration efforts in the United States and Australia. Prior to joining Bayless in 2002, Mr. Silverman worked for Total, Texas Gas Exploration and Gustavson Associates. Mr. Silverman received an AB from Brown University and an MS in Geological Sciences from the University of Colorado.  He is widely published on a variety of geological and petroleum-history topics, and was President of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists in 2014.

Mr. Bayless continues to work with the company as an advisor on drilling and production operations after retiring from full time responsibilities in 2020.  He worked with the company and predecessor companies for 40 years after beginning his career with ARCO.  Mr. Bayless is the manager of Bayless Ranches, LLC.  He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1975 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Thomas began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2005 and currently manages operated production for Robert L. Bayless, Producer LLC.  Before joining the company in 2008, he was an Engineer for Haliburton Energy Services.  Mr. Thomas received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Florida.  He is a former Chairperson for the Four Corners Society of Petroleum Engineers and served as the President of the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico.

Mr. Newell began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2008 and currently manages the land department at Robert L. Bayless, Producer LLC. He previously worked at Berry Petroleum and Nadel and Gussman before joining the Bayless team in 2012. Mr. Newell received a BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA from the University of Denver. He is an active member of both DAPL and AAPL and serves on several committees for both associations while also receiving his CPL designation in 2015.

Ms. Griffin has over 20 years accounting experience in the oil and gas industry and joined Robert L. Bayless, Producer LLC in June 2022. She is responsible for the company’s accounting, financial reporting, human resources, and administration. Prior to joining the company, she worked for Tracker Resource Development and Key Production Company. Ms. Griffin received a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of North Dakota in 1992. She is a member of COPAS Colorado and participates in the Denver O & G Controllers Group.
